  • Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Partners with The Jed Foundation (JED) to Strengthen Mental Health Support of Members and Community

Initiative offers expert support and guidance to promote young adult emotional health and prevent suicide.

BALTIMORE, MARYLAND & NEW YORK — Fraternities and sororities shape the college experience for hundreds of thousands of students, and they can have a powerful impact on the emotional well-being of their members and broader campus communities. Today, Alph Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. announced its new partnership with The JED Foundation to protect mental health and prevent suicide among its members through participation in The JED Greek-Letter Organizations (GLO) programs. The Fraternity is a member of the National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC), also known as the Divine Nine (D9), comprising nine historically Black Greek-Letter Organizations.

Suicide is the second leading cause of death for young people ages 20-24. Among young Black men ages 20-24, the suicide rate increased by 47% between 2018 to 2024, and for the first time in history, the suicide rate among young black men surpassed that of their white peers in 2024.

GLO provides evidence-informed guidance to fraternities and sororities committed to promoting emotional well-being and preventing suicide. JED’s GLO partnerships with fraternities and sororities — including Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Sigma Phi Epsilon FraternityAlpha Kappa Delta Phi International Sorority, Inc.Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity, and Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. — and higher education institutions like Lafayette College in Easton, Pennsylvania represent nearly 1.2 million college and lifetime members.

    These partnerships aim to:

    ● assess and strategically plan organizational needs and priorities

.● strengthen substance misuse and hazing prevention training for staff, volunteers, alumni, and members using JED-developed workshops.

    ● support implementation tools, strategies, and techniques for measurable mental health improvements.

Founded at Cornell University in 1906, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. is the first intercollegiate Greek-letter fraternity established by African American men. The fraternity was initially established as a study and support group for minority students. Since its founding, Alpha Phi Alpha has initiated more than 300,000 members across nearly 900 chapters internationally.

We’re equipping teens and young adults with the skills and knowledge to help themselves and each other.

JED GLO programs build on the JED report, Fraternities and Mental Health: Supporting Emotional Well-Being Among Members and Across Campus, which highlights how fraternities can impact mental health on college campuses. The report provides key recommendations for improving the emotional well-being of fraternity members and other students across campus. While fraternities can positively impact mental health by providing belonging and social connection, fraternity membership can also increase certain risky behaviors such as alcohol misuse and hazing participation, highlighting the need for programming that provides support for building healthy fraternity environments.

  • iHeartMedia and Netflix Deepen Partnership with Daily Live Video Stream of Nationally Syndicated Hit Radio Show The Breakfast Club with Charlamagne Tha God, DJ Envy and Jess Hilarious

The iconic morning show becomes Netflix’s first daily live program airing each weekday, featuring nearly three hours of uninterrupted show with exclusive content during breaks.

New York and Los Angeles – iHeartMedia, the No. 1 audio company in America, and Netflix recently announced the next major milestone in their video podcast partnership: The Breakfast Club, one of the most influential and culturally resonant broadcast radio morning shows in the country, will now stream live daily on Netflix, marking an unprecedented evolution of the show – and the first daily live program airing each weekday for Netflix.

Beginning June 1, The Breakfast Club, co-hosted by Charlamagne tha God, will air simultaneously as a live video show on Netflix each weekday, giving members nearly three hours of real‑time access to the show’s unfiltered conversations, headline‑driving interviews, and cultural commentary as it happens. While the radio broadcast will continue to include traditional commercial breaks, Netflix viewers will receive an enhanced, uninterrupted experience, with those breaks filled by exclusive bonus segments, behind‑the‑scenes moments, extended discussions and original content—resulting in nearly three continuous hours of programming each day.

This expansion builds on iHeartMedia and Netflix’s previously announced exclusive video podcast collaboration, unveiled in December, and represents how audio‑first franchises can thrive in a premium, video environment.

“The Breakfast Club has always been at the center of culture, breaking artists, shaping conversations, and reflecting real life in real time,” said Bob Pittman, Chairman and CEO for iHeartMedia. “Taking this show live every day to a global audience on Netflix is a powerful example of how we’re expanding the reach of our biggest brands while giving audiences entirely new ways to experience them. Whether it’s morning in NYC or the afternoon in London, the conversation is live and reaching the world in real time.”

“Do y’all understand what “Live Globally” really means? Mornings in New York. Daytime in the U.K. and Ghana. Evenings across other parts of the world,” said Charlamagne tha God. “The media landscape will always evolve, but one thing consistently cuts through: live programming. That’s a big reason The Breakfast Club has sustained its reign for so long. We’re building something powerful—real‑time conversation, real community, on a global scale. The future belongs to those who can see what’s possible—and trust me, the vision for The Breakfast Club and Netflix is crystal clear.”

With its live daily format, The Breakfast Club becomes one of the first shows of its kind on Netflix, showcasing the service’s growing investment in the podcast space and creator‑driven programming. The show will continue to feature its current lineup of hosts—Charlamagne tha God, DJ Envy and Jess Hilarious—bringing their signature energy, authenticity and cultural authority to Netflix members around the globe.

“The Breakfast Club has been a cultural staple for years, and we’re thrilled to make it our first daily live morning show on Netflix,” said Lauren Smith, Netflix VP of Content Licensing and Programming Strategy. “Every weekday, members can drop into nearly three hours of live, unfiltered conversation, plus exclusive moments they won’t hear anywhere else. It’s a big step forward in how we bring culturally defining audio‑first franchises to life for Netflix audiences around the world, and we’re excited to deepen our partnership with iHeartMedia.”The morning program originates from iHeartMedia’s legendary Power 105.1/WWPR-FM in New York and will continue to be nationally syndicated by Premiere Networks on more than 100 broadcast radio stations nationwide and on the iHeartRadio app, with all audio‑only rights and distribution continuing to be retained by iHeartMedia. The enhanced Netflix version offers an additive experience—designed specifically for viewers.

Originally launched in 2010, The Breakfast Club has become the bullhorn for modern culture and is widely regarded as the most informative and entertaining top-rated contemporary Hip-Hop/R&B morning show today. Charlamagne Tha God and his co-hosts DJ Envy and Jess Hilarious are known for their unrivaled interviews with celebrities and recording artists. Esteemed guests who have appeared on the show include former President Barack Obama, former President Joe Biden, former Vice President Kamala Harris, Jay-Z, Cardi B, Kendrick Lamar, Kevin Hart, Snoop Dogg, Future, 50 Cent, Lizzo, Will Smith, Alicia Keys and many more. The crew also hosts “Weekends with The Breakfast Club,” a 3-hour weekly program featuring a countdown of the top 20 songs on the charts and signature interviews. • New Survival Guide Offers Essential Blueprint for Life After Societal Collapse

Jesse Wile’s After the Fall: How To Survive When Everything Collapses Delivers Practical, No-Nonsense Preparedness Strategies for Everyday People

Asbury Park, New Jersey- As natural disasters grow more frequent, global tensions rise, and critical infrastructure faces increasing vulnerability, one question is quietly becoming urgent for millions of Americans: what would you do if everything stopped working tomorrow? Author Jesse Wile is tackling that question head-on with the release of his new book, After the Fall: How To Survive When Everything Collapses, now available on Amazon Kindle.

From power grid failures and supply chain disruptions to economic collapse and civil unrest, the threats facing modern society are more complex and interconnected than ever before. Yet most people remain dangerously unprepared for even minor disruptions, let alone a full-scale collapse of the systems they depend on every day. After the Fall was written to change that — offering a compact, actionable guide that empowers ordinary people to take control of their safety and survival before disaster strikes.

    WHAT THE BOOK COVERS

At just 80 pages, After the Fall is designed to be read quickly and referenced often. Wile strips away the noise and focuses on the core knowledge people need to survive when the world as we know it stops functioning. Key areas covered include:

Food and Water Security: How to source, store, and purify water and food when supply chains collapse and grocery store shelves go bare.

Shelter and Safety: Strategies for securing your home, relocating if necessary, and staying safe in an environment where law enforcement and emergency services may be unavailable.

Community and Communication: How to build alliances with neighbors and local communities to improve your collective chances of survival.

Medical Preparedness: Essential first aid and medical knowledge for when hospitals and pharmacies are no longer accessible.

Mental Resilience: How to maintain psychological strength and clear-headed decision-making under extreme stress and uncertainty.

Barter and Economy: Understanding what holds value in a post-collapse world and how to trade and negotiate for what you need.

    WHY AT THIS TIME

The timing of After the Fall could not be more relevant. Recent years have seen unprecedented disruptions — from global pandemics and extreme weather events to economic instability and geopolitical conflict. Emergency preparedness, once considered the domain of fringe “preppers,” has entered the mainstream conversation, with government agencies and public health experts alike urging citizens to have plans in place for extended emergencies.

Wile’s book meets that moment with urgency and clarity. Rather than overwhelming readers with fear or complexity, After the Fall takes a grounded, practical approach — one that assumes the reader has no prior survival training and builds from the ground up. The result is a guide that is as useful for a suburban family as it is for someone living in a rural area.

Jesse Wile is a black survivalist and preparedness author dedicated to equipping ordinary people with the knowledge and confidence to protect themselves and their loved ones when society’s safety nets disappear.

His writing is rooted in the belief that preparedness is not about fear — it’s about empowerment. After the Fall is Jesse’s latest work, published on Amazon and available to read FREE on Kindle.

  • HBO Original Documentary EARTH, WIND & FIRE (TO BE CELESTIAL VS. THAT’S THE WEIGHT OF THE WORLD) Debuts June 7

The Film Explores The Iconic Group’s Spiritual And Musical Origins And Lasting Cultural Impact. From Academy Award® And GRAMMY® Winner Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson.

The HBO Original documentary EARTH, WIND & FIRE (TO BE CELESTIAL VS. THAT’S THE WEIGHT OF THE WORLD), produced and directed by Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson (“Summer of Soul”), debuts SUNDAY, JUNE 7 at (9:00-11:00 p.m. ET/PT) on HBO and will be available to stream on HBO Max.

Synopsis: Acclaimed producer, director, and musician Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson tells the story of the legendary nine-time GRAMMY® Award-winning band Earth, Wind & Fire, tracing their genesis through late founding member Maurice White, chronicling their evolution, highs and lows, and relevance from the 1970s into the present day while exploring the deep philosophical and spiritual meaning behind their message and music.

Drawing from the band’s rich visual, audio, and written archives, including never-before-seen footage, the film plays like an experiential kaleidoscope of images, colors, and music, transporting viewers to the vibrancy of live performances that have electrified fans past and present. Through candid interviews with band members, colleagues, family, and high-profile fans, the film traces the childhood that would forge White’s worldview and reflects the singular influence of his music on generations of artists, such as Prince and Stevie Wonder, as well as its resurgence through sampling and collaborations with today’s hip-hop artists.

Exploring the band’s evolution from jazz to soul, R&B, Afro-funk, disco, and beyond, the film details how White strove to weave his spiritual, metaphysical, and astrological passions into the band’s genre-spanning songwriting and increasingly theatrical live shows in an effort to unite a wide and diverse audience. Constantly reinventing and adapting to the changing times, White pushed the limits of creativity and theatricality, occasionally at the expense of personal relationships, but always in service to his elaborate showmanship and the music. EARTH, WIND & FIRE (TO BE CELESTIAL VS. THAT’S THE WEIGHT OF THE WORLD) is a loving celebration of a complex artist, the enduring legacy of an iconic sound that spans decades, and a joyful tribute to the band’s far-reaching cultural impact.

Featured Participants: Band members Philip Bailey, Verdine White, and Ralph Johnson are joined by musicians, managers, authors, former band members, and family members, as well as notables the band has influenced, including President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama, Stevie Wonder, Lionel Richie, H.E.R., and Flea.

“Our mission at ORISHAMAX is to transform travel into a sacred experience,” said a spokesperson for the brand. “We are not just selling luggage—we are offering a connection to heritage, intention, and empowerment.”

Key features of the Orisha-inspired luggage include:

▪︎Distinctive designs rooted in Yoruba symbolism and Ifá traditions

▪︎High-quality, durable materials built for modern travel demands

▪︎Spiritually intentional aesthetics created to inspire and uplift

▪︎Limited-edition releases that honor specific Orishas and their attributes

With growing interest from culturally conscious consumers, spiritual practitioners, and design enthusiasts, ORISHAMAX is quickly establishing itself as a leader in meaningful luxury travel goods.

Customers can explore divine collections and secure their Orisha suitcase through the ORISHAMAX Etsy Shop.

Early demand is high, and select designs are released in limited quantities to preserve their exclusivity and cultural integrity.

ORISHAMAX is much more than luggage. This is a movement—where travel meets tradition, and every journey becomes a sacred path.
